IMPROVE SAFETY & SECURITY
• Improve Olivia’s entrance security and consolidate offices
• Upgrade fire alarms, and public address systems at Olivia
REPAIR & REPLACE AGING INFRASTRUCTURE
• Replace mechanical systems (25-70 years old), lighting, and electrical systems in both buildings to reduce operating
costs and increase efficiency
• Renew worn roofing and flooring, ceilings, paint, doors, and lockers in both buildings
• Repair building interiors/exteriors, including walls, windows, doors, ceilings, casework, and masonry at Olivia
MODERNIZE LEARNING SPACES
• Update Olivia’s learning spaces to support changing educational standards, including:
- Create appropriately-sized special education spaces
- Replace 1922 section with expanded cafeteria/kitchen, family and consumer science (FACS), and art spaces
- Update middle/high school science classrooms
- Create shared project room for elementary art, science, and technology
- Remodel technical education area to expand shop and add classrooms, lab space, and storage
- Replace multi-purpose room (wrestling) and add new fitness center
• Improve Bird Island’s performing arts area with new curtains, theatrical lighting/sound, storage, gym seating, and flooring
• Update restrooms and add locker rooms at Bird Island to support performing arts, athletics, and other community events
